Introducing Counties of Tehran Province

Eslamshahr is a county of Tehran, with an area of 195 km2., located in the South Western alluvial plain and its provincial capital is also Eslamshar. Eslamshar is surrounded by Rey county in the East and South, Robat Karim in the West and Shahriar in the north-west. The county is located on Saveh Transit Road and joins other counties via Freeway 65 (Tehran-Saveh HWY), Freeway 5, and Tehran Railroad to South of Iran. In addition, Eslamshar is at a distance of 15 km from the Tehran downtown area.

According to the latest census and administrative divisions (2016), Eslamshahr is composed of 3 districts (Central, Chahardangeh, and Ahmad Abad Mostofi), 6 rural districts and 27 communities. Pardis county, established in 2012 in an area of 276 km2, is located 17 km North East of Tehran. The geographical location extendes from Tello Village in Sorkheh Hesar to the end of Bumehen district. As per the IRI administrative divisions, Pardis has two districts of Bumehen and Jajrood, two cities of Pardis and Bumehen and four rural areas.

Pardis County has mutual borders with Tehran from the West, Damavand from the East, Shemiranat from the North, and Pakdasht from the South. Total population of Pardis is 169,060 (86,477 male and 82,583 female), 53,367 households and working population of 126,431. An industrial zone is also active in Pardis.

Pishva County is located 45 km South East of Tehran and 10 km from Varamin County on natural foothills. The county is located on the Silk Road and Tehran-Mashhad Railway. Robat Karim is located in an area of 275 km2 in the South West of Tehran Province. Robat Karim is located 25 km from Expressway 65 (Tehran-Saveh HWY.) and links to the Tehran-Khorramshahr railway. Rey is historically known as Rhagae, one of the world's oldest counties located in district 20 of Tehran. Rey was founded in the Aryan era and was capital of Iran in the Ziyarid and Seljuq eras. Shemiranat is the Northernmost county of Tehran province located in the foothills of south Alborz. Shemiranat has 3 districts (Shemiran, Lavasanat, and Rudbar-e Qasran).  Shemiranat County is surrounded by Mazandaran province in the North, Tehran in the South, Pardis and Damavand in the East, and Alborz province in the West.
